One of my clients seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer. This position encompasses all facets of mechanical design engineering. The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for structural design of machine components. This engineer will design detailed mechanical drawings and complete sets of fabrication prints. Will also design robotic work cells.
The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for the design of pneumatic systems, including vacuum and drawing schematics. Responsibilities will include the selection of materials as well as the selection and application of sensors.
Requirements: BS in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline is preferred. Experience in machining, cutting, and grinding of metal and polymers. 3D solid model design, preferably SolidWorks. Candidate should be proficient in ANSI/ASME and GD&T standards. Proficiency in robotic work cell design and layout. Experience with mechanical drive trains. Experience with conveyors and other material handling equipment. PLC programming and controls design is a plus. Salary is commensurate with experience and willingness to travel. This position requires approximately 20% travel. Generally $60-80 or more depending on experience and travel willingness.
