This position is located One hour from Little Rock, population of about 18,000. Duck Hunting
capital of the world, best deer hunting in the state. One million sq. ft. state-of-the-art
manufacturing facility. Excellent benefits & relocation package. Salary from $85-100k plus bonus
potential to $2500. and 3% EBIT potential. Employees around 1100-1200 people.
Preference given to female and minority candidates. They are picky, but an excellent
company to work for.
What they are looking for is 7+ years experience, degree in Occupational Safety (or similar),
experience from durable goods manufacturing environment with metal working processes,
position is 90% safety and only 10% environmental. Must have good knowledge of LOTO,
OSHA/EPA regulatory compliance, MSDS, ergonomics, machine guarding, a good track record
in reducing TRIR (total recordable incident rates, as well as experience in helping reduce
worker's compensation cost).
On top of all that they need someone who has no problems living in a thriving population
of around 19,000 people, that is located about 1 hour from Little Rock.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop new and creative programs that
drive year over year improvements in safety and ergonomics. Act as a mentor, teacher and change
agent to assist the organization in its company’s manufacturing facility is in compliance with all
Federal, State and local HSE laws and regulations. Develop new and creative methods to drive
continuous improvement of HSE practices.
Establish and direct safety, environmental and security initiatives, programs and policies that
maintain and improve the protection of facility environments and the health and safety of all employees,
contractors, visitors or guests. Ensure the physical security of employees, contractors, visitors or
guests, facility property, product and equipment.
Requirements Minimum of BS/BA degree in Occupational Safety and Health or equivalent and
seven plus years of increasing and pro-active responsibility for environmental, health and safety
in a fast-paced industrial setting. Certified Safety Professional (CSM) certification and/or associate
in risk management (ARM) certification a plus.
Solid, current knowledge and understanding of federal and state environmental and safety regulations
required. Proven track record as an effective change agent required – bringing about positive change
by using influential power (vs. organizational authority).
Must be computer literate and have proficient knowledge relative to Microsoft Word, Excel and
Project. Experience with MS Outlook, Access and SAP a plus. Strong verbal and written skills
to effectively communicate with internal and external customers required. Must be detail oriented
with excellent organizational skills.
Ability to work flexible hours with little or no advance notice required. Self-discipline and an
ability to perform all required tasks with a minimum of direct supervision required.
Supervisory experience preferred.
