Sales Rep Ion Exch Resin $85 plus incentives ALA 4 April 2008

One of my clients seeks to fill this opening earliest.. one of my hiring employers says.. '

" I put together a Bonus plan for the salaried employees based upon reaching goals of $300K profit or greater. Both of them did well and are arguing that I owe them more money. This is not true.
They both had side bonuses for doing things like converting customers from competitive accts
to our brand of product. The Rohm and Haas factory used to pay all of this and they dropped the program
Now, they are threatening me to replace this " lost income" . Both of their jobs duties are the same
and they both work out of their homes.

#2 person is a former Ex-Rohm and Haas ion exchange resin (sales person ) and was retired early and joined our company in 1997. He has 30 years experience in ion exchange resin. He eats and sleeps the stuff. In the past three years he has realized you must sell other products. However if they do not have resin he will not call on them for other products. #2 works only 4 days a week.

Territory: Alabama, Border counties in Southern TN, Panhandle of Fl.; Duke Power Plants, Piedmont are of SC including some accounts in Columbia, SC. Strategic accts, in Charleston Area such as Santee Cooper Power Co. Base Salary: $80,000 He made a bonus of $33,000 in 2006 and $70,000 in 2007. He does about $2,000,000 in sales. Products: 60% Rohm and Haas ion exchange resin; 10% carbon; 10% Milton Roy Metering pumps; 20% New RO or DI equipment.

#2 supplies his own car and takes mileage for reimbursement, he has his own insurance. He is our technical support for Rohm and Haas resin. WE are one of the few Master Distributors that have in house technical support. Rohm and Haas has one person and they are always difficult to reach. This person will need to be trained by Rohm and Haas to understand resin. #2 is 66 years old and an authority on resin and this I another reason why we need to change. I have talked about starting a testing lab division and have this person run the lab and move to sales in a year.

I will need a person with a BS in chemistry that can be trained by #2 or Rohm and Haas. This may take a year. I would guess a person from GE Betz, Nalco, Chemtreat, Rohm and Haas, DOW or others would be a good fit.

I would like this new person to SELL OTHER ACCOUNTS THAT DO NOT buy RESIN ! Esp our line of injection PUMPS. #2 says this is a waste of his time to sell a $5000 pump when he can strategically sell $50,000 in resin and make more money. Turn key of resin and carbon are part of the job. The customers in the Southern Region are supported with the service group in Atlanta.
