One of my Atlanta area clients seeks a Firmware Engineer
Seeks both a Contract person (60-90 days) and a permanent person. $35/50 per hour (and $60-65,000 ) 3 mos minimum expected tenure. SUMMARY: Support software for existing products. Code and test software using C/C++ for embedded applications.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Reverse engineering of existing code. Diagnose faults in software and systems. Develop software in C/C++ for medical devices. Write test protocols for testing code and execute these test protocols. Configuration management.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 6+ years experience developing code using C/C++ for embedded applications. Able to write/modify software based on requirements and existing code. Experience reviewing and understanding existing code. Experience writing test documents and performing verification testing. Good verbal and written communications skill.

EDUCATION: Ideally BSEE, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science EXPERIENCE: 6+ years experience in development of software for embedded applications

SKILLS AND ABILITIES: C/C++ and Experience working with RTOS. Working knowledge of LINUX. Understand implement non-complex algorithms. Implement non-complex-databases. Utilize effectively vendor-supplied documentation. Fluent in the use of Microsoft desktop environment tools. Company is using Renaissance SH3 and Motorola 68332 chipsets. and anyone who has developed and written firmware for these or for Intel chip sets 8080 or 8086 could be of interest to this firm.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: extensive computer use.
