One of my affiliates has a client conducting a search for a: LEAD HARDWARE ENGINEER

This position is responsible for managing a team of engineers for research, design,
development and test of the clients unmanned air vehicle systems product suite.
This person will be required to have an understanding and application of mechanical and
electrical avionics design, particularly as applied to UAV airframe construction, wiring,
operation, and maintenance. This person must have experience planning, executing, and
tracking personnel task assignments. He or she must have the ability to handle several programs
at once and optimize workloads, and must be able to operate efficiently in an environment
of rapidly changing priorities.

Essential Functions: Provides technical direction for all hardware development, and plays
a key role interfacing with customers, vendors, and other members of the organization •
Responsible for developing requirements and specifications and determining design approaches
that can be executed within schedule and budget constraints

Responsible for the development of system designs including prototyping, troubleshooting
and preparing design documentation • Oversee the development of mechanical drawings,
schematics, printed circuit boards, cable and harness assemblies, bills of materials, etc.

• Develop and test design verification and product qualification plans. • Develop a thorough
understanding of corporate product line and technologies by developing an expert knowledge
of product functionality and end-user operations • Contribute to the process optimization and
productivity enhancements

Qualifications • 7-10 years experience managing a team of engineers
• Experience in matrix organization (functional lead/program manager) is a plus
• Masters Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering • Must have or be able to obtain
a DOD security clearance. position in Dallas, salary up to $125K

In addition to the above: Requires a strong Avionics background (both MIL & FAA).
Needs to be familiarity and Design Experience in Airborne Systems subject to MIL
specs and/or FAA DO-160 specs.
