Engine Dynamometer Techs $60-75 PA 19 June 2008

One of my hiring employers in the Philadelphia area seeks several Engine Dynamometer Technicians

Firm operates a state-of-the-art emission testing laboratory consisting of two (2) chassis and six (6) engine dynamometers ranging from five (5) to one thousand (1000) horse power. Our lab is recognized as capable of performing engine certification and device verification test protocols by both the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the California Air Resources Board (CARB). ESW caters its services to internal combustion engine manufacturers and users (both diesel & gas), equipment importers, and exhaust after-treatment device manufacturers.

We are currently looking for two (2) experienced dyno operators with experience in the engine /emissions testing and certification industry, specifically. As a member of our engine emissions testing team you will be working in an engine test lab environment in cooperation with other technicians performing test set-up, test operation, troubleshooting, data collection and technical communication.

Qualifications: Experience operating an engine dynamometer for exhaust analysis. Ability to apply a wide range of technical skills including measurement; instrumentation and controls; data acquisition systems; real-time, mainframe, PLC and PC computers.

Effective analytical skills coupled with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to develop and maintain quality documents for emissions equipment calibrations and test processes that must comply with legal test procedures, e.g., EPA; CARB, etc. Good computer skills (Microsoft Apps.,Visual Basic, Lotus, File Maker Pro) Self-motivated, able to work independently or as part of a team, well organized and goal oriented.

Key Responsibilities: Participate in establishing and documenting safe work practices in all related job functions. Participate in establishing and documenting standardized work instructions for dyno testing. Establish/modify and perform durability & performance tests, software & data collection. Perform teardown audits and complete failure and wear analysis. Follow and maintain quality assurance controls and practices in all services performed.

Education/Training: only BSME-EE-CE-ChE or equivalent technical school training and experience. $ 50,000 to $ 75,000; plus benefits, relocation aid & stock options depending on education and experience.
